This week saw Huge Media ad vans crossing the border with our mobile billboards in Scotland.
Huge Media literally does operate from Land’s End to John O’Groats. But this week we only went as far as Edinburgh!
We have been on the road again with the Don’t Trash Our Future campaign. And we wanted to tell you a little more about the initiative.
The campaign is a partnership between media firm In Your Area and Clean Up Britain. It’s a really hard-hitting campaign that takes the message directly to the target audience. As well as wanting to reach people who are littering; the campaign has also been targeting decision-makers. Whilst in Edinburgh our ad van made a stop at The Scottish Parliament.
The team behind the campaign has launched a petition for a change in the law. They say:
Laws exist to help keep our country clean but they are either flouted or not enforced on a massive scale – as recent scenes at beauty spots across the UK only served to prove. InYourArea.co.uk – the UK’s leading local news platform – has joined forces with the national behavioural change organisation Clean Up Britain to push for changes we believe will force littering to be taken far more seriously.
We are calling upon the government to increase the fixed penalty notices for littering in the UK to £1,000, or 100 hours supervised community litter picking, and for the government to make it compulsory that every local authority in Britain has to enforce the law. Sign our petition below to help make a difference, and urge those responsible ‘Don’t Trash Our Future’
The petition already has more than 30,000 signatures. Supporters include Jeremy Paxman, JLS singer JB Gill and Clare Balding.
Huge Media owns and operates its own fleet of Mobile billboards in Scotland and across the UK. Get in touch to let us help plan your campaign across ad vans, digital billboards, bus or taxi advertising and ad bikes.
